Blinis and....no caviar

Ok
I am pretty supportive of just about anything that Big Al wants to do. Well she has been on a diet to eliminate dairy, gluten, meat, sugar, peanuts, oranges, and fun from her (our) diet. Now, I love food, and I really think that I cook more from scratch than any other young person that I know. So I can only watch people eat leafy green things for so long before I have to step in and and say "oi vey". So I got to planning and started thinking about the weird stuff that could be used with the dietary restrictions.
I also love ethnic food, but not the way that the term "ethnic food" commonly used. I really like making the foods that our immigrant ancestors brought to the New World. Most weeks you will encounter things like Lebanese Lentil salad, Hans Klingen (slavic pretzels), Latvian Potato Salad, Vietnamese Rare Beef (think steak tartar), and sushi when breaking bread with the stampers.
I have two vices that consume most of my disposable income, bikes and food. Fortunately these are vices that big Al approves of.
However most of our immigrant ancestors do not believe in dairy free lifestyles, so this can present challenges. So like a fixxed gear freestyler hurtling towards his timely death I have enbarked to change traditional recipes to fit certain dietary restrictions.
So I made Russian Blinis, as in Blinis and Caviar, which is a tradition food from imperial Russia prior to the revolution of Bolsheviks (who probably did not like dairy, meat or fun either). It is made from milled Buckwheat Groats (naturally gluten free) to form a crepe like pancake. I changed the recipe to to replace rice milk for the real thing, 2 tbl of apple butter for sugar, egg beaters for eggs, and served with molasses. It made for mighty fine table fare.

Wow. That's more restrictive than my diabetes diet. Seriously...the blinis were good? They sound suspect...

Aunt Tracey? Every thing I Make is good....well except that time I tried to make Cow tongue tacos. I will send you the complete recipe if I can drum up your address.

Yup - It's me. And cow tongue tacos would turn me into a vegan too. I'm understanding Alison's point now...

Actually, I understood everything but the oranges. Why are oranges bad?
