It doesnt take much to redline my brain-o-meter and the thought of how a internally gear hub works is enough to do it so if you have ever wondered what goes in to a rohloff feel free to geek out.

You need to cat. up and learn you some flemish. That way you can ask Tom Boonen how he powders his nose and gets all the girls.
They're annodizing their colored hubs now, mine was powdercoated, that's nice. Just 50,000 more miles till it's broke in.

Did you hear that they are gonna make a Rohloff "lite". Like 300 grams less wt. Do you use yours on your snow bike?
Rohloff is on the Karate Monkey. It's my "when all else fails" bike. Even if they were lighter they would still have the parasitic drag issue. It gets worse when the oil gets cold. Pretty hard to beat derailer and gears for efficiency. The gearhub will however, outlast any derailer+gear drivetrain indefinitely.
